Being one of the oldest buildings in London, the Tower of London makes a great day out for all the family. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the tower was built by William the Conqueror in the early 1080’s and has seen London grow and develop all around it over the years, making it rich in history and packed with tales to tell. Past uses include a prison, a fortress, home of the royal mint and a grand palace so you can find out the fascinating history of the tower and all the gruesome goings on from years gone by.
Admission includes access to the tower, guided Yeoman Warder (Beefeater) tour, live historical re-enactments, access to the royal armouries and the impressive crown jewel exhibition. Also, make sure you keep an out for the ravens of the tower, legend states that if the Tower of London ravens are lost or fly away, the crown will fall and Britain with it.
