This annual multi-stage bike race is a French institution. First held in 1903, the race has been held every year since. Riders from all over the world descend on France each year to participate in this great race with the hope of being the one to wear the highly coveted yellow jersey.
The Tour de France, along with the Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a Espana, make up cycling’s prestigious three week event – the Grand Tours. The French leg of the Grand Tours is held annually in July and each year the course takes a different route around France but always culminates with a grand finish on the Champs Elysees in Paris.
