La Tour Eiffel (The Eiffel Tower) has to be one of the most famous structures in the world. Standing 324 metres (1063 ft) high, it was the tallest manmade structure in the world at the time it was built in 1889 and remained so until the Chrysler Building was built in New York City in 1930.
This is a true Parisian icon and a must-do on any trip to the French capital. Whether you go up it or pop along just to see it you won’t be disappointed. The Eiffel Tower is just as special during the day as it is at night where it’s lit up to look like it’s glittering.
As soon as you catch a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower, you know you’re in Paris.
