Berthillion was the creation of Raymond Berthillion in 1954, putting to use an ice cream machine he had brought a few years earlier for his family run cafe. For the following years, school children and adults alike queued up to sample the delicious tastes that Berthillon was producing. Incredible reviews of the ice cream soon saw the store's rise to fame.
Berthillon's intentions to keep the ice cream they made to a high quality meant his plan to keep the ice cream craft a family business were cemented in 1998.
Made with all natural ingredients, up to 15 flavours are produced every day and on-site and range from fruity sorbets; cassis, blackberry etc to rich ice cream flavours; chocolate, coffee, hazelnut etc.
Berthillons is renowned for being the best ice cream in Paris and combines desserts with a tea room. So after a sight seeing tour of Notre Dame de Paris why not head over to the smaller island and sample Berthillon's lush flavours, colours, and tempting treats.
