David Kennedy's Food Social

Food Social combines fine food with Britain’s biggest commercial art gallery –The Biscuit Factory. Food and art have always had a close relationship so David Kenny felt it was only right to locate his restaurant somewhere that can promote this.

The Biscuit factory is located on Stoddart Street and is home to two floors of gallery space and artist studios. Set in a former Victorian warehouse there are a range of exhibitions, many of which change seasonally so there is always something new to see. The gallery is free to enter and there is also a shop where you can buy unique gifts and home wares.

David Kennedy’s Food Social is spacious and styled in relaxing contemporary décor. Head chef Andrew Wilkinson describes the restaurant by saying: “The new ethos is very simple – good honest food which has been locally sourced and beautifully presented.” The menu includes fish fresh from North Shields as well as locally farmed meats and vegetables. You can choose between a range of al la carte dishes as well as set lunch and dinner menus.
