Birmingham Back to Backs is a museum which portrays life in Birmingham from the 1840’s through to the 1970’s. Once Birmingham was filled with back to back houses: houses literally built back to back around courtyards. The museum is set in the last surviving street of back to back houses in Birmingham and it a great example of life in the city in the nineteenth century.
Managed by the National trust this atmospheric and hands on museum makes a unique day out for all ages. Step back in time and discover the way of life for former residents of Inge Street. Explore the mix of houses which have been carefully restored and set up in the way they were and even meet the residents making this a truly authentic glimpse of life back then.
Visits to Back to Backs are by guided tour only so booking is essential.
