Manchester has a well renowned music scene and boasts some great live music venues. One of which is Band On The Wall in the city’s Northern Quarter.
Nicknamed ‘Band on the wall’ since the 1930’s, the building is a grand Victorian pub which dates back to the 1800’s. This popular venue played a significant part in the Manchester punk scene in the late 1970’s and saw top bands such as Buzzcocks, The Fall, and Joy Division perform here.
It has since seen many internationally renowned artists perform and has become a venue known for promoting equality and diversity through music. Recently refurbished the venue is now a not-for-profit venue run by registered charity Inner City Music.
