L'Archeologia

This amazing restaurant is a former post house situated opposite the catacombs on the old Appian Way.  It is a warm, welcoming restaurant with an open fire and walls lined with wine.

In the warmer months diners can enjoy a delicious meal in the beautiful garden with its view of 300-year-old wisteria and Roman remains. The widely varied menu satisfies all tastes and is a fantastic mixture of new and traditional cuisine. There is perfectly grilled meat served with an extensive array of sauces using olive oil from the Sabine hills, and the fresh fish appears in an interesting way at every course. The antipasti selection has everything from cheese and salami to vegetables and seafood, while the extremely fertile area just south of Rome – the Ciociaria – inspires several pasta dishes.
