First opened in 1864, the National Gallery of Ireland is always included in top 10 lists of things to visit in Dublin and it’s easy to see why.
The gallery is home to over 2,500 paintings – including works by the world’s finest artists such as Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso and many more.
The Gallery’s talented directors have worked hard to secure works of the most respected artists and the gallery has a wonderful array of not only paintings but drawings, sculptures and many more.
The Millennium Wing was opened in January 2002 and was designed by the renowned architects Benson And Forsyth from London. At the moment the Gallery is getting ready for a radical overhaul of the Dargan and Milltown Wings.
With the National Museum of Ireland, the National Library of Ireland and the National History Museum all within walking distance of the Gallery, you couldn’t be in a better location for a day of culture.
