Sheffield is a vibrant city known for its great nightlife and close proximity to the Peak District. Sheffield city centre is a useful place to stay to enjoy the nightlife or to even have easier access to some rejuvenating walks around the countryside. The city provides great opportunities for families and groups to have a delightful and relaxing holiday away.

History

Set inthe gorgeous Peak District landscape, Perveril Castle is an 11th century ruins said to be one of England’s earliest Norman Fortresses.  With less than a 40 minute car journey to the village of Castleton, you can park your car in Hope Car Park and be at the castle within a half hour walk. 

Activities 

Less than a 40 minute drive away sits one of Britain’s largest and National Parks, the Peak District. Ranging an enormous 1,437 square metres, The Peak District is full of beautiful countryside walks. A great place to visit while walking through is the Village of Edale, located at the end of the infamous Pennine Way Footpath. The village is a splendid place to stop for a nice cup of tea and snack before heading off again on your walk.

Sheffield City Hall is jam-packed with events all year round. With names as big as Hozier and James Arthur performing in the venue, you can be sure to catch some fantastic entertainment when you visit. The Sheffield City Hall events can appeal to people of all ages, with live acts happening every week - be sure to add the Hall to your list when you visit the city. 

Food and drink 

Sheffield is full of delicious restaurants, many of which are in the city centre and easy access from all of our apartments. Perfect for a meal with friends or family, Sheffield has it all. 

Panorama Restaurant is located on Owlerton Greyhound Stadium Penistone Road. With dishes that taste as good as they look it’s no wonder that this fabulous cuisine has a 5 star review all round.  With a moderately priced menu you really do get a bang for your buck, making this restaurant worth a visit no matter the occasion. 

Nightlife 

Sheffield Arena formally known as FlyDSA Arena has so many events on over the year you will lose count. From Ariana Grande concerts to Marvel Universe Live!, there are shows and performances for everybody. With our apartments available in the heart of the city, you will never be more than a 15 minute journey away from the arena.

Travel Information 

Sheffield train station is one of many main train stations around the country. Many trains that come in happen to be change overs from one end of the country to the other. With direct routes to Manchester and London, taking the train to and from the city is a piece of cake. 

Sheffield in an easy city to travel around - especially when staying in a Citybase apartment. With many of our accommodation choices having onsite parking, you’ll be able to bring your car into the centre and park without a problem. 

With buses being the main mode of transport around the city, you’ll always be able to grab a bus to where you need to go. The yellow route will take you to all the major sports around Sheffield, including Meadow Hall. The blue route however will take you out of the city and to some fantastic countryside parks that make for lovely family days out.
