The Westminster borough itself encompasses a number of distinct areas including Mayfair, Maida Vale, Marylebone, Covent Garden, Bayswater, Paddington, Hyde Park, West End and Regent’s Park. Lying on the north bank of the River Thames, Westminster has some of the major visitor attractions and historic landmarks that any visitor to London will want to see. For tourists this is the highlight area of any visit to London with famous landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye and Westminster Abbey itself. If the weather turns bad, there are plenty of things to do indoors such as many famed museums and galleries. The National Gallery and Tate Britain showcase some of the best art in the world. For family fun there is the Sea Life Centre, or for a unique view of the city there is the London Eye, the world's tallest observation wheel located on the south bank of the river. Westminster Abbey is one of the most famous religious buildings in the United Kingdom, it is the traditional place for the coronation and more recently was the location of the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton. There is a museum for visitors that is located in one of the oldest areas of the Abbey.
