Offering space, privacy and great locations our serviced apartments in Doha are the perfect base to explore this exotic and mesmerising city.
The capital of Qatar offers an intriguing blend of culture and tradition, entwined closely with modern living and technology. Visually dramatic and naturally stunning, with a jaw-dropping skyline and striking Arabic architecture, Doha is a place you will not forget.
Why should I visit Doha?
A relatively new city, sitting in between sand dunes and the sea of the Arabian Gulf, Doha is the epitome of an exotic holiday.
White sands and turquoise sea waters are just two of the city’s attractions. Add exotic Arabic cuisine, an intriguing traditional market, and throw in white Arabian horses, camels and cultural sites for good measure and you can enjoy a unique break.
But the treats don’t stop there. With a stunning skyline filled with modern skyscrapers and fabulous shopping malls, Doha also offers all the convenience and perks of a top city break destination.
Major attractions & sightseeing
As Qatar is a small country, Doha not only has attractions of its own, but it is also less than two hours away from anything else the country as a whole has to offer.
Highlights include Barzan Towers and Al Koot Fort, examples of Qatari architecture; Souq Waqif, Doha’s traditional market where you will experience middle eastern art, music and commerce; and the Museum of Islamic Art. Qatar’s opulent shopping malls are also quite an interesting place to visit.
The city’s stunning skyline is better admired from a Dhow Cruise, traditional boats that sail along the coast. And if you are feeling adventurous, why not try a water sport or a desert safari?
When to visit
Part of the Arabian Gulf, Doha’s weather is hot all year around with virtually no rainfall. So hot in fact that the Qatari summer, in between May and October, is not really recommended for tourism as temperatures reach above 40°C (104F).
The best time to visit Doha is therefore during the cooler season, from November and April, when the weather is hot but pleasant and outside pursuits and sightseeing are a bit easier.
Places to eat in Doha
Offering all the major international cuisines, you will not be short of places to eat in Doha. However, the real experience is to try the Middle Eastern cuisine, which normally involves rice, meat and vegetables seasoned with an array of spices and occasionally dates.
Head to the market, Souq Waqif, for a taste of casual dining and street food or to The Pearl-Qatar and Katara Cultural Village for more formal restaurants and coffee shops. The latter is also home to art performance and events.
