Transport

By Air:

The main airport in Iceland is Keflavik International Airport which is 50km south-west of Reykjavik.

By Road:

Once in Iceland, you can hire a vehicle to drive around the island, however during Winter, many roads are closed due to poor weather conditions and the road surface being covered in snow. It is always a good idea to check with local sources regarding the road conditions before travelling, but don't let this put you off, as the road network is very easy to navigate and will lead you to many popular tourist attractions. Most of the roads are paved but some are gravel, especially in the highlands.
